Dixie Daisy (Barbara Stanwyck) is a star performer at a Broadway burlesque theatre whilst trying to avoid the advances of comedian Biff Brannigan (Michael O'Shea) and the bitter rivalry she has developed with some of the other dancers. When two murders take place in the theatre the evidence points to Dixie as the prime suspect. Dixie and Biff team up to try and discover the killer's identity. The movie is based on Gypsy Rose Lee's novel 'The G-String Murders' and includes some entertaining musical numbers performed by Barbara Stanwyck. The film's music was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Score.
