“I Want To Know” ~ Is a documentary chronicle about the fight of 3 Hasidic Jews for the right to education.

In this documentary, we follow Yohanan Lowen, his wife and their Lawyer in their fight against the government. Three years ago, Yohanan left the Hasidic Jewish community of Montreal so that his children could have access to secular education.

“How is it possible that young people who grow up today in democracy reach adulthood without having been educated? How to explain that the society does not make any case of this value which one hastens to defend the virtues everywhere abroad: freedom? That of Learning. Just like that of Thinking.”

Secularity, freedom, consciousness, education ... The film upraises questions of great public interest.
