In a world where female sexual expression is both lauded and shamed, we explore what it means to be a thriving 21st-century woman in search of her own style of sensuality. Following women/womxn from consultation to camera-ready, as they journey into the world of sensual expression, we find out why and why now. Part documentary and part reality show, these are human interest stories with a delightful twist. Using the history of BOUDOIR photography as a backdrop, we learn through personal testimony the fascination with the female form, how women have been encouraged to perceive themselves through the male lens, and how they can be empowered to take ownership of their sensuality through this experience.
In the series, three female photographers along with their hair and makeup artists, nurture their models, who are everyday women, through preening, posing, and playing. The photographers coax and reveal the women’s stories through a filmed BOUDOIR photography session, and share the laughter, tears, and beauty of these moments of self-expression and self-love. Our characters are from all walks of life.
