Matimekush, an Innu village near the abandoned mining town of Schefferville, is set to become Canada’s first Innu-African community. For ten years, Innus have welcomed African immigrants to their ancestral lands. At the Kanatamat school, nearly all teachers are from West Africa. The series explores how these two distant communities build a new world in Canada’s frozen Far North.
